Former Ghana international Felix Aboagye is confident about the Black Stars capabilities of annexing the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Ivory Coast next year.
The Black Stars last won the covetous trophy on 1982 and are in search of their fifth title on the continent. The team has come close in winning the title on three occasions, losing to Egypt in 2010 and Ivory Coast in 1982 and 2015 respectively in the finals.
Ghana has been paired in Group B against Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
Speaking about the capabilities of Ghana and Egypt of winning the title, he said, “Yes, Egypt and Ghana are capable of winning the tournament”
“At the present time, Ghana is not performing well, but in the atmosphere and competitions of the tournament itself, everything changes. Egypt has a very strong team and has a strong chance of winning the tournament”
The tournament is scheduled to commence on January 13, 2024, culminating in the final on February 11, 2024.
