The President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Mr. Eric Angel Carbonu has said expanding free Senior High School policy to Private Schools will bring a huge chunk on the National budget.
According to him, paying 50 percent of Tertiary Students School fees promised by the National Democratic Congress flagbearer Mr. John Mahama will worsen the financial crisis in the Country.
He has therefore called on the NDC to come out with a source of funding as it intends to expand free SHS to over 200 private Schools in addition to over 700 Public SHS enjoying currently as well as a source of funding to pay 50% fees for all University Students.
Mr. Angel Carbornu believes that the implementation of the free SHS has brought a huge chunk on the state budget and called on political leaders to be truthful to Ghanaians promises on social intervention programs.
The Teacher called on Government to review the free SHS policy to enable the rich to pay and those who cannot pay their kids fees must be allowed to apply for Government support.
