The Director of Academic Affairs and Research at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Professor Emmanuel Kwesi Aning, has welcomed the appointment of Commissioner of Police (C.O.P) George Akuffo Dampare, to act as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and said there shall be unprecedented changes in police service in his regime.
According to him, the new IGP is professionally, ethically, and morally perfect and was optimistic that he will deliver and things will be done right in the Police service soon.
Commenting on the appointment of the new IGP, Professor Emmanuel Kwesi Aning lauded the President forgiven the node to someone below 60 years for the first time in over 12 years to serve.
He called on the new IGP to take advice and be firm to rebuild the Ghana Police Service for citizens to continue to trust them and rely on them for their security.
COP Dampare, Director General in charge of Administration at the Ghana Police Service, will act as Inspector General of Police (IGP) when James Oppong Boanuh goes off a terminal leave as directed by the President with effect from Sunday, August 1, 2021, to Thursday, October 7, 2021.
