Bishop of Koforidua Diocese of the Catholic Church Most Rev. Afrifa Agyekum has chided the state’s failure to deal with the Galamsey menace.
According to the him, the menace will have serious consequences on provision of safe drinking water in the coming years.
Most Rev.Afrifa Agyekum called on all Ghanaians to speak out for government to be decisive and faithful in the fight against Galamsey.
He said this Saturday when speaking at the 2023 day mass and induction ceremony for Rev. Fr. Benjamine Opoku Hene as New Headmaster of Pope John Senior High School.
Eastern regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong said government is committed to quality and accessible education hence the introduction of free shs , accompanied with infrastructural expansion.
The New headmaster of Pope John SHS and Junior Seminary, Rev. Fr. Benjamine Opoku Hene said discipline , supervision and Monitoring, collaboration with parents and networking with old students are four thematic areas he will advance to improve quality education in the school.
