President Akufo-Addo has been urged to as a matter of urgency change the Finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta over the mismanagement of the economy over the past years.
The current Economic Management Team has also been described as incompetent and needs immediate changes.
US-based Ghanaian mining consultant, Dr Solomon Owusu disclosed this to the reporter in an interview, after the mid-year budget presentation by the Finance minister to Parliament on Monday.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo-led government through the Finance minister has for the past six years made promises through the annual budget themes with strong assurances but has only brought unprecedented hardships to Ghanaians.
He revealed that Government has made many assurances through the following annual budget themes presented to Parliament in 2017, that is;
2017: Sowing the seeds for growth and jobs – Ken Ofori-Atta.
2018: Putting Ghana back to work – Ken Ofori-Atta.
2019: A stronger economy for jobs and prosperity – Ken Ofori-Atta.
2020: Consolidating the gains for growth, jobs and prosperity for all – Ken Ofori-Atta.
2021: Economic revitalisation through completion, consolidation and continuity – Ken Ofori-Atta.
2022: Building a sustainable entrepreneurial nation; Fiscal consolidation and job creation – Ken Ofori-Atta
However, Dr Solomon Owusu also took the opportunity to ask President Akufo-Addo the whereabouts of the ‘men’ he promised Ghanaians the party has, to help him (the President) fix the economy and wondered why the NPP government keep giving citizens empty promises.
