A 43 year old Kofi Appiah popularly Known as Aboagye Dacosta has been arrested by the Kasoa Divisional Police Command for allegedly printing fake currencies in large quantities.
The fake currency kingpin was arrested in his hideout at Obolo Estate near Gomoa Budumburam(Liberia Camp) this morning after a tip off by the Police.
Many bundles of Ghc50 notes suspected to be fake were retrieved from the room of the suspect when searched.
Briefing the Media, Kasoa Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Owusu Dwomoh told Bryt Fm correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah that the suspect has admitted the offence but revealed his accomplices are prominent persons in Accra Newtown.
Police revealed that, the suspect uses the money to buy from market women and stores.
He said, the suspect is currently in Police custody assisting with investigations.
