Aspiring parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Fanteakwa South constituency of the Eastern region, Dr. Amaning Dankwah has offered GHS7,000 to help in the building of a party office to replace an old rented apartment currently being used by the party.
Filing his nomination forms on Friday 14th February 2020 to contest in the party’s primaries, Dr. Amaning Dankwah expressed worry about the poor state of the current office as it does not befit the party which is in power.
“We are all aware the party has acquired land to build a party office but work is yet to begin due to lack of funds. I am therefore donating my widow’s mite of GHSS7,000 to buy cement to start work on the office”.
“I know other party members will come on board to support once we start work so that we can together have a befitting party office to work from” he stressed.
Speaking on his intention to contest in the primaries, Dr. Amaning Dankwah emphasized that, he is offering himself to serve his people to ensure the better livelihood of constituents.
He indicated that, leadership is all about serving and not the other way of being served and that, he is ready to do all his possible best to ensure people in the constituency get their fair share of the national cake.
The Parliamentary hopeful, however, pledged to do a campaign devoid of neither insult nor personal attacks as enshrined in the party’s constitution and therefore urged his supporters to engage in the decent campaign.
Dr. Amaning Dankwah, before his decision to contest in the primaries, has over the years contributed greatly to the wellbeing of constituents with numerous interventions, including free health screening, donating to the needy and widows as well as assisting in the education of some brilliant but needy students.
Dr. Amaning Dankwah will be battling it out with the incumbent MP, Kofi Okyere Agyekum who has received a lot of accusations over his performance within the constituency over the years.
