Police at the Nyinahin are investigating the sudden demise of a 65-year-old farmer, Opanin Yaw Asamoah, who was found dead on his cocoa farm by residents of Asheresu near Bibiani in the Atwima Mponua District of Ashanti region.
The deceased wife, Ama Asibuo, narrating the incident to mybrytfmonline said, his husband left home yesterday to engage in his day-to-day activities on his cocoa farm but did not return.
This made her worried and requested for the help of the town people to search for the husband.
To her, the neighbours did not refused her request hence organized a local search party to the deceased farm with the authorization of the town elders which they later found the lifeless body of Opanin Yaw Asamoah on the cocoa farm.
In tears, Ama Asibuo said his husband left her with six (6) children.
The corpse had been deposited at the Nyinahin morgue for an autopsy for further investigation.
As to whether the deceased has offended somebody, which will lead to his mysterious death, the deceased wife said:
“All I know is a man named Adei whom I heard upon my return from Kumasi that he is having an issue with my husband as he threatened my husband to account for a missing yam which he (Adei) thinks my deceased husband is the culprit”.
The Police command at the Nyinahin is poised at diving deeper to the cause of the death of the 65-year-old farmer.
