A 25-year-old farmer in Agbodzi near Tɔprɛman in the Dɛnkyɛmboɔ District has been sentenced to three years and 30 days for causing harm to a Pedestrian and driving motorcycle without a license.
Kofi Mawuko, accused was convicted on his plea for guilty in the court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams in the Asamankese Circuit Court.
The accused, who was riding a tricycle on 24/11/2019 without a license for repairs negligently knocked down a 70-year-old pedestrian, Comfort Asabea, now deceased.
The prosecution said the illegal driver lost control on the road after his tyre burst and knocked the woman who died instantly and unfortunately, the accused deposited the body in the bush over the fear of attack by family members.
Six days later, the accused upon hearing the announcement of the missing woman rushed to the family for confession and he was arrested and hand over to the police.
Upon interrogation, the accused confessed negligently killing the woman and he was arraigned for prosecution.
