The Asamankese Circuit Court Presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has sentenced a 19 year old farmer to six years imprisonment in hard Labour for causing harm to his colleague farmer, Contrary to section 69 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).
Saviour Agyekum,the accused person pleaded guilty to the charge and was convicted on his own plea.
Inspector Samuel Owusu, the prosecution Officer told the court that the complainant in this case is a farmer living at Obinimda and the accused person is also a farmer at Breku, near Asamankese.
He said on 05/06/2023 at about 4pm, the complainant approached the Father of the accused person,Mr. Kwesi Senim and informed him to warn the accused person to desist from any affairs with his 15 year old daughter.
The prosecutor said on the same day at about 7pm, the accused person armed himself with machete and attacked the complainant in his house and caused injury on his left shoulder.
The complainant rushed to the Police to report the incident and he was giving a form to go to hospital.
Later, the accused person was arrested cautioned to that effect and after investigation, he was charged and sent to court for prosecution.
