A 26-year-old farmer at Onyinafonso, near Asamankese, Benjamin Lawer has been sentenced to four years imprisonment in hard labor for causing harm to one Joseph Kwaku Sandoh, contrary to section 69 of the criminal offenses Act 1960(29/60).
Benjamin Lawer pleaded guilty to the charge and he was convicted on his plea at the court presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams.
According to Prosecuting Officer, Inspector Samuel Owusu both the accused and the victim are farmers at Onyinafonso near Asamankese.
He said the accused, for some time now have been threatening the victim that he will kill him if he bypass his House.
The Prosecutor said on 11/07/2022 at 7:30pm while the victim was resting in his corridor after attending a funeral, the accused arrived there with Cutlass and unfortunately slashed his head and hand and ran away.
The victim however shouted for help and people came to his corridor and took him to Asamankese Government Hospital for treatment.
The Prosecutor said while the victim was at the hospital, the accused was arrested on 12/07/2022 and was charged and sent to Court later for Prosecution.
