Hon . Ben Abdullah Banda representing the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana , H.E Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the Commissioning of a Mosque at the Weija Leprosarium.
The mosque was constructed by the Founder of the Leprosarium, Father Andrew Nii Lamptey Campbell to commemorate his 77th Birthday Anniversary.
The Mosque is to serve Muslims of the Leprosarium.
In attendance was Hon. Sam Okudzeto, a member of the Council of State, Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shuaibu, CEO, Coastal Development Authority and popular musician, Akosua Agyapong.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice President, Hon. Banda highlighted the symbolism of this gesture in promoting freedom of worship, religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among various religious groups.
He wished him a Happy Birthday and prayed for longevity of life, blessings and wisdom.
