A female Police Lance Corporal (name withheld) stationed at the Suhum barracks in the Eastern Region alleged to be suffering from mental illness is causing fear and panic.
The illness however strikes intermittently but whenever she relapses, she causes chaos and threaten lives at the barracks.
Due to the alleged hay fever linked to mental illness of the police officer ,she has been restricted from going on outside duties and prevented from handling weapons.
A source at the Police station disclosed to this portal that, “her actions are putting them in fear, in the manner that whenever the sickness comes, she reacted abnormal, insults the other officers, and stage out from the barrack sometimes in Police uniform walking aimlessly in town”.
Family of the Police officer has taken her to prayer camps on several occasions but she had not recovered.
Some of the officers who spoke to this portal on condition of anonymity expressed worry about the situation and appealed to the top hierarchy to intervene before harm is caused .
The Suhum Police Commander, Chief Supt. Joseph Owusu claimed, he was unaware of the situation but promised to investigate .
