The 32- year-old fetish priest Kwesi Budu arrested by the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Kasoa for allegedly defiling his 9-year-old nephew at Fetteh Kakraba in the Gomoa East District of the Central region has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment.
He was convicted on his plea of guilty to a charge of defilement but with the explanation that he was drunk hence pleaded the Presiding Judge of the Kasoa Ofankor Oddupong Circuit Court to temper justice with mercy.
However, his plead was not considered.
The convict defiled the victim on June 1, 2020, when together with her friends visited the convict to watch Television.
The victim was defiled while asleep in the room of the convict having sacked her friends.
The Mother of the Victim told Bryt FM’s Central Regional correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah that, she detected blood dripping from the pant of her daughter which upon interrogation narrated her ordeal in the hands of the convicted fetish priest.
She rushed to the Police Station to lodge Complaint which leads to the arrest of the suspect. Medical forms were issued for treatment of the victim which was duly endorsed and confirmed by medical Doctors.
