Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has announced his retirement from football after almost a decade of illustrious career.
Gyan, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 called it a quit during the 30th Afreximbank Annual Meeting held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
However, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), the Confederations of African Football (CAF) and many football fanatics have paid warm tributes to Black Stars legend Asamoah.
“Asamoah Gyan was always able to produce magic! Congratulations on an amazing career” FIFA tweeted.
“An absolute legend of the game. The Ghanaian footballing icon, Asamoah Gyan hanged up his boots. One of the best to ever do it” a tweet from CAF official handle reads.
Meanwhile, his former Black Stars have also eulogized Gyan for his contribution during his playing days to the national team.
