Africa’s hope of securing quarterfinals spot at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup has taken a nosedive following the elimination of the three countries that reached the Round 16.
Nigeria, South Africa and Morocco produced top performance to progress from the group stages to the last 16.
But their hope of making it to the quarterfinals could not materialized after suffering defeat in their various games.
South Africa became the first African country to be eliminated from the tournament after 2-0 defeat to Netherlands last Sunday.
On Monday, powerhouse, Nigeria lost to England on penalties after pulsating goalless draw after extra-time.
Morocco became the last African casualty after succumbing to a 4-0 defeat to France on Tuesday morning.
