In a recent high-level meeting with Chief Directors and key audit officials across various government ministries, departments, and agencies, the Ministry of Finance charted a clear and decisive roadmap for implementing the recommendations of the 2024 Audit Report.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister for Finance, expressed deep concerns over the ongoing waste of national resources, emphasizing that such inefficiencies not only send a negative message but also jeopardize the nation’s hard-earned peace, stability, and economic confidence.
“We cannot afford to continue losing scarce resources to avoidable infractions. Ghana deserves better,” Dr. Forson stated.
He called on the team to minimize these infractions to the absolute minimum, highlighting that specialized courts are now in place to prosecute breaches of financial laws.
“This is a new chapter. Accountability is no longer optional,” the Finance Minister affirmed, stressing that discipline in public financial management is not just a requirement but a duty owed to every Ghanaian.
