Three (3) shops have been razed down by fire in the central business area of Koforidua the Eastern Regional Capital.
The flame started around 10:15am on Tuesday.
The blaze was reportedly caused by an electrical fault on the main power supply pole of the electricity company of Ghana which spread to the nearby shops.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived 30 minutes later to extinguish the fire preventing it from spreading to other nearby shops.
The shops consumed by the fire are electrical, plastic and cloths shops.
One of the affected shops is Ogyeatuo Electricals.
Properties worth thousands of Ghana Cedis have been destroyed.
