Eight (8) stores have been ravaged by fire at Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 11:00pm at the Oda business district near the Opportunity Savings and Loans Bank in the New Town Zone of Birim Central Municipality.
Properties being offered for sale worth thousands of cedis have been consumed by the fire.
According to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), thirty-one (31) persons were affected.
Meanwhile, residents allege that it took the belated intervention of firefighters from Ofoase to douse the fire as the only fire engine in Oda is faulty.
