The Northern Regional Commander, ACFO I James Ankrah has sent a heartfelt new year fire safety message for the residents in his region and beyond.
He didn’t mince words in expressing the fact that, though fire is a good servant, it is also a very dangerous master when not controlled.
He also admonished that, proper safety measures should be practised at home including switching off and de-plugging electrical appliances from sockets when not in use and reminded residents to be mindful in the use of gas cylinders and stoves at home.
ACFO I James Ankrah further advised the people of the Northern Region to be mindful of indiscriminate burning since bush fires are very rampant in the part of the country in the harmattan season.
He encouraged residents to weed their surroundings to reduce Bushfires that travel from the bush to affect homes in this harmattan season.
He promised an intensified fire safety public education this harmattan and was however very hopeful of a fire-free year ahead and seized the moment to wish residents a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
