The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded to a fire at the Valco Flat in Ashaiman on Saturday, 29th November 2025. Firefighters from the Ashaiman Fire Station arrived at 0901 hours and, led by ADO I Opare Philip, called for support from Tema Motorway and Metro Fire Stations to contain the blaze.
The fire affected a 14-room, one-storey building numbered 51 on Nii Amui Street. At 1000 hours, firefighters had extinguished the fire, successfully salvaging 11 rooms and 5 stores.
Three (3) rooms and their contents were completely destroyed, while two (2) sustained partial damage. No injuries were recorded, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
