On Friday 23rd August 2024, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo hosted Queen Mothers from the Greater Accra Region, to a celebration of the annual Homowo festival at my office.
They used the opportunity to discuss issues concerning women and children acknowledging progress made so far, challenges, and the way forward.
She also used the opportunity to introduce hardworking and caring Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia, to the Queen Mothers, and entreated them to give her the same support they have given me these past years as First Lady.
She thanked the Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia, the Queen Mothers, Ministers of State, Municipal and District Chief Executives, Members of Parliament, and some Chief Executive Officers, in the Greater Accra Region for their presence and support.
