Fomena T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region has won the maiden edition of the Adansi Bona Afahye quiz competition.
T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School got 74 marks followed by New Edubiase SHS who had 57 points, again Asare Bediako SHS bagged 54 points respectively to finish the third position.
The competition formed part of pre-activities towards the celebration of the festival and was aimed at promoting reading among school children and encouraging them to explore the culture and history of their land whilst instilling learning habits in them.
It was also to help foster unity and togetherness among the citizenry through education in the quest to make Adansiman great again.
T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School won the maiden edition with a trophy and cash prize of GHC 2,000.
Opagyakotwere Bonsra II, Nana Adansihene who chaired the program to kick start the Adansi Bona Afahye said it was imperative to periodically organise such competitions to improve learning among children to enhance education in the area and beyond.
He praised the participants for their outstanding display of intellectual discipline throughout the competition and urged them to be steadfast and focus on their academic endeavours to become better citizens in future.
He noted that competitions boost talents, and skills, and inculcate qualities of sportsmanship spirit, teamwork, and cooperation among the youth.
Other activities for this year’s weeklong Adansi Bona Afahye 2022 which commenced Monday, include a football Gala, clean-up exercise, support for widows above 50 years and a grand durbar.
