The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has won awards in recognition of its contribution to the work of the Ghana Civil Service, at the just ended 2024 Civil Service Week and 2023 Awards Ceremony which was organised by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service under the theme “Combating Threats to Sub-Regional Peace and Security: Perspectives of the Civil Service” from 24th April to 3rd May, 2024.
During the awards ceremony, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ambassador Ramses J. Cleland won the 5th Best Performed Chief Director for the year 2023.
The Ministry also received a “Special Award in Appreciation of its Immense Contribution for the Successful Organisation of the Civil Service Awards Ceremony Over the Years”. The Passport Office under the Ministry was awarded for its contribution towards the successful organisation of the Policy Fair over the years. Mr. Peprah Ampratwum, a Director at the Ghana High Commission in London received an award in recognition of his unwavering Commitment, Exemplary Leadership and Diligence to Work.
The Ministry participated in the Inter-Ministerial games for the celebration. In the Inter-Ministerial football tournament, the Ministry’s male football team emerged as the second-best team of the tournament with Mr. Isaac Siatey Ologo an Assistant Director IIB, being awarded the best goalkeeper for the tournament. The Ministry also won the overall best institution for performing exceptionally in the tournament. Additionally, the Ministry’s fan base was recognised as the best in the tournament for showcasing enthusiasm and support for its representative throughout the games.
Ms. Ruth Naa Norkor Dornoo, an Assistant Director IIB won the second place in the women’s lawn tennis tournament whiles Mr. Stephen Tawiah, a Higher Executive Officer emerged as the third best player for the men’s lawn tennis tournament.
Ms. Rita Enyonam Dakudzie, Principal Information Officer at the Ministry won second place in the maiden Inter-Ministerial Quiz Competition which was held on the topic “Know the Civil Service”. The cooking team from the Ministry won the 4th place in the cooking competition.
The Ministry also participated in a Policy Fair/Exhibition which was held at the Forecourt of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) auditorium from 29th April to 2nd May, 2024. The Ministry used the platform to sensitise Civil Service Staff and the public about the mandate and the services which are rendered by the Ministry. Officers from the Ministry also participated in a clean-up exercise to kick start the 2024 Civil Service Week Celebration.
