The former aide to ex-Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has entreated current President Muhammadu Buhari not to call the Super Eagles ahead of their World Cup play-off against Ghana.
The Super Eagles will play the Black Stars in a two-legged encounter with the winner securing one of the five slots on the African continent.
The first leg of the titanic qualifying tie will be played on March 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse encounter on March 29 at the Moshood Abiola national stadium in Abuja.
A chunk of Nigerians have accused President Buhari of ‘bad luck’ as his engagement with the national team has not yielded any positive results.
According to them, the Super Eagles always lose whenever President Buhari calls the Super Eagles ahead of games.
However, the former aide to Goodluck Jonathan has pleaded with Buhari not to engage the team before their game against Ghana.
Reno Omokri has therefore called on Nigeria’s President to rather call their opponent instead of the Super Eagles.
Ahead of the blockbuster encounter, Reno Omokri has pleaded with Buhari not to call the Super Eagles team in order to avoid defeat against the Black Stars.
In a tweet, the socio-political activist wrote: “Dear General Buhari,”
“The only appeal I make to you as Nigeria is set to face Ghana in a World Cup qualifier is please do NOT call the Super Eagles.
“Whether video or audio call, please, please, and please, do NOT call. If you want to call, I can get you the number of the Black Stars of Ghana.
“In the spirit of West African brotherhood, you may wish to call them to ‘inspire them’.”
Nigeria are expected to touch down on Thursday and will also hold a mandatory training that same day before Friday’s game.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars held their first training at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Tuesday and will have two sessions on Wednesday.
