Former Beninois President Thomas Boni is scheduled to travel to Guinea on Wednesday, 20th July 2022 for talks on the transition to civilian rule.
His trip comes as relations between the ruling military junta and Prime Minister Mohamed Beagovui are reported to be breaking down.
The junta has appointed an acting prime minister while Beauogui seeks medical treatment in Italy.
Citizens are reportedly also not pleased with his performance. ECOWAS appointed Boni in early July to replace Ghanaian diplomat, Mohamed Ibn Chambas who stepped down as the ECOWAS mediator.
