In a show of appreciation, the immediate past President of the National Service Personnel Association, Emmanuel Wit Duncan, accompanied by his executives, paid a courtesy visit to the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum on Wednesday 2nd August 2023 to express their heartfelt gratitude for the recent salary increment granted to service personnel.
The past president commended the Education Ministry for recognizing the invaluable contributions of NSS personnel to various sectors of the nation and further highlighted that the salary increment would not only motivate the current and future batches of service personnel but also enhance the overall effectiveness and impact of the NSS program.
In response, the Education Minister expressed his appreciation for the personnel’s dedication and commitment to national service and reiterated the significance of the NSS program in fostering a sense of civic responsibility and nurturing leadership qualities among the youth.
“The increased salary for NSS personnel was officially announced a few weeks ago and it has been widely acclaimed by both past and present participants in the program.
The substantial raise is expected to alleviate financial burdens on service personnel, enabling them to focus more on their roles in community development projects and other assigned tasks” he stated.
