A police operation in the Ashanti Region resulted in the fatal shooting of four suspected armed robbers, who were terrorizing residents along the Bekwai-Fomena Highway.
The suspects, part of a five-member gang, were engaged in a shootout with police after they blocked the road and robbed passengers, particularly between Bekwai and Fomena.
According to the report, the police chased the suspects after they took to their heels, and four of them were shot dead while one escaped into the bush.
The police are currently on a manhunt for the fifth suspect as investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
