As part of activities to mark the Francophonie month in Ghana, a health walk was held on Saturday, 20th April, 2024.
The 10 kilometer walk which started from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, was the climax of the Francophonie month in Ghana.
It created awareness on the usage of the French language among Ghanaians and other French speakers and on Ghana’s application to become a full member of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF)
Ghana has been an associate member of the International Organization of La Francophonie since 2006 and has applied to be a full member of the O.I.F which will be considered in October 2024 at the 19th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
Members of the Francophonie community in Ghana, the Diplomatic Corps, students drawn from various senior high schools and universities, and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration participated in the walk.
