Fake prophets continue to develop dubious ways of duping the public as the Bible is now used as bait in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.
Several persons have fallen victim to the new plans of these fraudsters who use fake prophecies to entice them.
A young lady explaining her experience narrated that, she came across the fraudsters on the ministry’s road on her way to do her birth certificate last Friday.
According to her, the fake prophet approached her with lots of prophecies and later asked her to give him (the fraudster) three ghc20 notes, that is; ghc60.
“As I was speaking to him, another guy was passing by so he called him too to also prophesy on his life. He (fraudster) later asked the guy to give him ghc40 but later he (fraudster) refused to collect the money but rather asked me to add another ghc40 to the earlier ghc60 to make it ghc100”.
The victim further explained that, the fraudster then told her to go to the birth registry with the other guy and that he was waiting for them in front of a nearby shop.
“He (the fraudster) told me to buy water and wash my face and repeat ‘Boa me’ three times and that, I will have ghc100 three notes and ghc5 coins in my bag after doing that. Within few minutes upon looking back, I realized that he (fraudster) is nowhere to be found so I went to the shop owner to ask of him but he was already gone”.
“I traced to see if I can see him but I couldn’t find him so I returned to the shop where I left the other guy and surprisingly, he was also nowhere to be found”.
Information gathered revealed that there are a lot of people who have fallen victims to their activities but have no one to intervene for them.
