Peter Atta Gyamfi, Regional chairman of CHASS and the Headmaster of Pentecost Senior High school (PENSEC) has confirmed that most schools in the Eastern region has little stock of food items to feed students.
According to him, most of the schools does not have all the 18 food items they are supposed to be supplied with, hence the struggle to feed students as expected.
During an interview with Kwamina Sam Biney on Bryt Adekyee Mu, Elder Atta Gyamfi indicated his outfit was assured to reopen school despite their earlier complain of insufficient food items by the Ghana Education Service, but are yet to receive them.
He stressed that PENSEC as an institution has food items to feed students for the next two weeks due to support of the Church of Pentecost but was quick to add the situation is different in other schools.
He used the opportunity and called on parents to augment government intervention by providing some food items for their wards as the situation is being dealt with.
The current situation has brought back earlier complaints of challenges with the implementation of the free senior high school policy.
