Fundraising and party finances are key to a healthy democracy that political parties and campaigners can develop policy, campaign and get their message across to voters, according to National Treasurer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, Mary Posch-Oduro has asserted.
She has indicated the National Treasurer is responsible for handling the national funds of the party and shall see to the proper disbursement in accordance with applicable laws and that the right persons are required.
Madam Mary Posch-Oduro insists she is the best candidate for the job due to her outstanding track record in the party when it comes to mobilizing funds and disbursing it accordingly both in Ghana and the diaspora.
She is, however, urging all delegates to consider giving her the nod to help the party improve its finances and also ensure equal disbursement to make the ‘Break the 8’ agenda a reality in the 2024 general elections.
“As a party national treasurer, you are responsible for your party’s compliance with the financial controls under the Political Party’s constitution. The National Treasurer shall be responsible for handling the national funds of the party and shall see to the proper disbursement in accordance with applicable laws. And there is no doubt that Madam Mary Posch-Oduro is the best candidate for the job due to her outstanding track record in the party when it comes to mobilizing funds and disbursing it accordingly both in Ghana and the diaspora” the National Treasurer hopeful added.
