The Western North Regional President for the Ghana Association of Assembly Members (GAAM), Mr. Ackah Nelson Frank has appealed to the members of the Civil and Local Government Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), to call off their ongoing strike for the betterment of the various MMDAs.
In an interview with the media, he called on the executives of CLOGSAG to consider the magnitudes of the intended strike and come back to work.
The assembly member for the Asawinso A in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality unfolded though, the association has the statutory rights to embark on such activity but they should at the same time put in their thoughts on the future of our youth and the country as a whole.
“I am pleading to the entire Members of CLOGSAG to reconsider their decision and call off the ongoing strike action. I was very sad yesterday when I went to the Bibiani municipal assembly and met a vacant assembly block. I think it will be frugal for them to call it off for the betterment of the country,” he viewed.
He again reiterated that the government must aspire to go to the mediation desk with the executives of the association to ensure their demands are met.
“When you exhort the stinking fish, you need to advise the cat, too. I have to advise both bodies. The government must sit up and negotiate with them before it’s too late since this is keeping too long” He added.
Mr. Ackah Nelson emphasized that the activities of the CLOGSAG have affected the country in terms of administrative activities of the various MMDAs and even revenue collections, perhaps calling on the appropriate authorities to as soon as possible to meet with various stakeholders to find lasting solutions to their problems.
