The African Ulama (Muslim scholars) Conference is underway at Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Conference Centre in Bijilo.
President Adama Barrow is expected to officially open the day-long conference of Islamic scholars and leaders.
Muslim delegates in the Gambia and from other African countries and other parts of the world are taking part in the all-important conference.
This year’s theme is Promotion of Peace, Understanding and Unity among Communities and Nations.
