A 5-member delegation from The Gambia National Health Insurance Scheme have completed a 4-day working visit to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
The purpose of the visit was to learn the rudiments of managing and sustaining a National Insurance Scheme such as the NHIS in Ghana.
For a country that is just starting off its National Health Insurance Policy, the leader of the delegation and CEO of the Gambia Health Insurance Scheme, Mr. Bai Mass Saine indicated that his country is proud to model its Health Insurance scheme around that of Ghana owing to Ghana’s19 yearlong success of providing medical insurance cover for its residents.
Mr. Saine thanked Management and staff of the NHIA for their invaluable suport and rich experience passed down to his delegation on this visit.
The Gambian delegation were received by Deputy CEO in charge of Operations Mrs. Vivian Addo-Cobbiah and Mr. Francis Owusu, Deputy CEO inn charge of Finance & Investments as well as a host of Directorates heads and deputies within the NHIA.
