On 6th January 2025, the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) hosted a delegation from the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Ghana. This meeting explored trade and investment relations between the two nations, activating existing collaborative agreements.
The Embassy of the State of Qatar, established in Accra in 2017, has been instrumental in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and Qatar.
In 2018, GNCCI and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to:
– Facilitate the exchange of trade and investment information.
– Support participation in trade fairs and exhibitions in both countries.
– Establish a Joint Trade and Investment Committee to enhance collaboration.
During the meeting, President of the Chamber, Mr. Stephane Miezan emphasized the importance of implementing the MoU, stating:
“Operationalizing this agreement is crucial to unlocking new opportunities that will mutually benefit the business communities in Ghana and Qatar.”
Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties and agreed to work collaboratively towards mutual prosperity.
GNCCI remains dedicated to fostering international partnerships that empower Ghanaian businesses and drive sustainable economic growth.
