President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku has rated the first half of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season high.
According to him, the season has so far been competitive despite starting during a challenging period owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He admitted they have a long way to go but said they will improve given a quantum of investment they make in referring, development of coaches and others.
He expressed the believes they will definitely get to where they deserve in due time.
“I think overall; it’s been very very competitive. Before the commencement of the season we had no doubt that the Ghanaian football populace, corporate Ghana, were very much yearning for the return of association football in the country. So when we had the green light from the government we were in a hurry to roll out the season,” he told Footballmadeinghana.com.
“Quality of play has been on the rise. We’ve seen some very good games; we’ve seen some very good players. Administratively I think we are there. It’s been very good.
“Clubs, club owners, administrators, executives have been up and doing. Match officials have been breathing a new life into the football industry.
“I know that we still have a long way to go but we will improve given quantum of investment we’re making, in refereeing, development of coaches for example. I know that we’ll definitely get there,” Kurt Okraku concluded.
