The Founder and Leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor has stated that late Dr Kwame Nkrumah made two biggest mistakes after gaining independence for Ghana.
To her, the late Ghana’s first president changing the currency from British pound to Ghana Cedi as well as the mass deportation of whites after the independence.
She stressed that the two decisions by Dr Kwame Nkrumah have greatly affected the growth of the country since then.
“Dr Kwame Nkrumah could have let the white people stay in Ghana after independence and permit Ghanaians to use the British pounds,’’ Madam Akua Donkor told Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon of Bryt FM.
However, Madam Akua Donkor has commended Dr Kwame Nkrumah for gaining independence from Britain.
Ghana is set to remember gaining independence from Britain as done every 6th March.
The late Dr Kwame Nkrumah was the Prime Minister and later President of Ghana after gaining independence.
