Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Ghana Education Service and Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited have launched a program dubbed Independence Festival Explosion ahead of independence day celebration in the municipality.
Speaking to the media, the Municipal Public Relations Officer for GES, Kwaku Duah Sheriff explained that the programme aims at offering educative activities for pupils in the municipality before, during and after the independence day(6th March) celebration in order to help them exhibit their talents and learn new things as well and avoid involving themselves in immoral acts.
The program commences on Saturday March 2, with fanfare activities such as lime and spoon race, sack race flipping of bottle, fill in the bottle while quiz competition would be conducted on Monday involving both public and private schools before the march past on Wednesday 6th March.
Mr Krobo Adusei, GES Municipal Deputy Director of Supervision also indicated the main motive for the Independence Festival Explosion programme, indicating it will go a long way to instill patriotism and discipline in children.
On his part, the Community Relations Manager for Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited, Hon Lawyer Emmanuel Aidoo noted that it is the company’s cooperate social responsibility to support the communities in which they operate hence they accepted to collaborate with GES to make the programme succesful.
He added that Mensin Gold has sponsored 134 tertiary students and 34 of them have completed their courses, it is a history so far as Bibiani mine is concerned because their predecessors never offered schorlaships as Mensin has done.
