Ghana and Austria have pledged to strengthen their trade and investment ties at all levels for the benefit of the two countries.
This pledge was made during bilateral discussions which took place in Accra on Friday, 13th September, 2024.
Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, and the Austrian Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, H. E. Alexander Schallenberg led the discussions.
During a joint press briefing after the discussions, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey commended her Austrian counterpart, H.E. Alexander Schallenberg and his delegation for the historic visit and called for extensive efforts to forge more partnerships and cooperation that would drive the development of the two countries.
She encouraged the Austrian business community to partner with their Ghanaian counterparts to strengthen the existing trade ties and emphasised on Ghana’s access to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and its vast market of 1.3 billion people.
“Doing business in Ghana means having access to the world’s largest free trade area with 54 countries, 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of 3.4 trillion United States Dollars” she added.
