Energy Minister, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh received H.E. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Hamid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Ghana.
Their discussions focused on the need for Ghana and Qatar to deepen bilateral ties with quintessential emphasis on the energy sector.
The minister indicated strongly the need for the Ambassador to favourably position Ghana’s energy sector in the minds of Qatari investors.
He further intimated that our upstream, downstream and renewable energy sectors remain open for business whilst highlighting our 2030 Petroleum Hub agenda.
Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh also reiterated Ghana’s stable political atmosphere which makes it a safe haven for investment, anchored on the principles of the rule of law and a fair economic system.
“Whilst acknowledging the commitment of the Ambassador to the mutual ties of the two nations, it is the priority of the Ministry of Energy to attract significant figures of investment into Ghana, a key step to economic growth which will ensure the progress and prosperity of our people” he added.
