Ghana international goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is confident about the Black Stars winning the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
The Black Stars has been on the elusive search for a fifth AFCON trophy since winning the fourth nearly four decades ago in Libya.
Ghana has come close to ending the trophy drought in the last decade, 2010 Angola losing to Egypt in the finals and in 2015 Equatorial Guinea- Gabon as the Stars lost to Ivory Coast on a penalty shootout.
However, according to the Legon Cities captain, the country can win the next AFCON if players invited plays with a winning mentality.
“Ghana can win next Afcon. I remember we came close in 2015 but we were unlucky, Ivory Coast won it. This time, it is possible that we can win it. Let’s pray and sees what God will do for us”
“As a player, I think if those invited go in with a winning mentality, it’s possible that we can win the trophy,” he told Hello FM.
