Ghana COVID -19 Active cases have dropped from 5,444 to 5,295 as the death toll increase from 607 to 611.
Ghana Health Service report indicates that 326 new cases have been recorded and as of 27th February 2021, confirmed cases in Ghana stand at 84,349 out of 906,827 tests conducted with 78,443 Recoveries.
The report indicated that 24 patients are in critical and 77 are in severe condition.
The government has announced it is aiming to immunize about 20 million Ghanaians by the end of the year in an elaborate vaccination program to eradicate the deadly Coronavirus.
Ghana is the first country in the world to have received COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX facility.
The United States congratulates Ghana on the successful start of the COVID-19 vaccine campaign on March 1. This campaign was made possible through the COVAX Advance Market Commitment, a global initiative to support equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.
The United States recently announced a commitment to provide an initial $2 billion—out of a total planned $4 billion— to the COVAX Advance Market Commitment, making the United States the single largest contributor to the international response to COVID-19.
