Ghanaian international Mohammed Salisu has rejected a move to French Ligue 1 side, Stade Rennes as he eyes a move to the English Premier League according to Rennes president, Nicolas Holveck.
Salisu has emerged as one of the promising players in the world following his wonderful output for Real Valladolid in the Spanish La Liga.
The defender has caught the attention of several European clubs including Rennes who were close to securing his signature.
Several clubs in the Premier League including Everton, Southampton and Manchester United have all shown interest in signing him.
However, Nicolas Holveck, president of Rennes, has opened up on the future of the towering guardsman who plies his trade for Real Valladolid in Spain.
“In principle, I think he would like to play in the Premier League. It is not a novelty”
Rennes is looking to reinforce their squad and was willing to bet heavily on Salisu in a 2020/21 season in which he will compete in the Champions League but has rejected the French club.
