The Ghana Football Association has settled on Frimpong Manso as the new head coach of the Ghana national U17 team, the Black Starlets.
Manso, who is currently the head coach of Ghana Premier League side Bibiani Goldstars replaces Laryea Kingston, who left his role during the WAFU B tournament held in Ghana last year.
He is expected to steer the Black Starlets to the next AFCON tournament after Kingston and his charges failed to qualify for the upcoming tournament this year.
Noted for his rich experience, Manso is expected to revive the Ghana U17 national team, having retrogress in recent times.
He previously worked as assistant coach of the Black Starlets in 2009. His career as coach of the national team also saw him work assistant coach of the Black Meteors.
At club level, he has managed a host of clubs including, Stade d’Abidjan in Ivory Coast, Asante Kotoko, Karela United, B. A. United, Kessben FC (currently Medeama SC) and Nkoranza Warriors in Ghana.
