Businessman cum politician Dr. Papa Kwasi Nduom has blamed Ghanaian national football teams poor performance over the years to the state of the current domestic league.
According to the Elmina Sharks’ owner, it has been long overdue for football managers of the country to invest in the game to produce quality players for the national teams.

Ghana Football.
I don’t understand why some people don’t seem to know why Ghana football is not performing well on the international level.
If we do not fix our domestic football leagues, we cannot hope to focus only on those players in foreign leagues to raise Ghana’s flag high.
Simply put, there is not money in the domestic leagues. The sponsorships for premier, first division and second division leagues, men and women cannot help pay player salaries. Team owners go into debt or have to export players to foreign teams for money to pay basic expenses. Some club owners pocket the international transfer fees and leave the clubs poor.
Can any of the people contesting to lead the GFA tell us what their plans are to make the domestic leagues attractive to sponsors, advertisers, players and spectators?
