The Ghana Health Service (GHS), is beginning its 7th National COVID-19 Vaccination Days (NaCVAD-7) from today, July 19, to Sunday, July 23, 2023, aiming to immunise about one million persons.
According to the Service, 10 million people out of the more than 30 million persons in the country have fully received the vaccines, with the rest yet to either vaccinate or undergo complete vaccination.
Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, highlighted the existence of the virus despite rumours that Covid-19 is no more.
He reiterated the declaration of the WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on May 5 this year that though COVID-19 ceases to be a public health emergency of international concern, the virus still lingers around.
A total of 1,462 have so far died through Covid-19 in Ghana after recording 171,657 cases.
The number of 24,941,922 Total Vaccine Doses Administered so far.
