Through the Ministry of Roads and Highways, Ghana will host the 3rd International Road Federation (IRF) Congress & Exhibition from April 25 – 28, 2023 under the theme “Delivering tools for Mobility & Regional Connectivity.”
The 3rd IRF Africa Regional Congress & Exhibition aims to explore a range of policies and mechanisms to offer policymakers practical options to ensure road & transportation programmes continue supporting the region’s sustainable development goals and social-economic objectives.
The Congress will also adopt a long-term transport infrastructure funding & procurement framework for the continent, deliver “Vision Zero” for Safer Road Mobility, and introduce World-Class Traffic Engineering & Management Solutions for Region. It will also seek to enhance the Quality of the Transportation Network through Durable Pavement Design, Climate-Resilient Infrastructure & Preventive Asset Management Strategies.
H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana is expected to grace the Congress as the special guest of honour. Other key highlights of the event include specialized sessions on topical issues such as ‘Ghana’s road vision and programmes’, ‘Safety on two wheels: mainstreaming safety for cyclists and motorcyclists and mainstreaming sustainability in transport planning’.
