Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has hit back at critics of his World Cup ambition.
Gyan in an interview with BBC disclosed he is keen on playing for the Black Stars at the Mundial later this year.
The 36-year-old who is seeking to emulate Cameroon legend Roger Milla has started intensive training to be fit for the tournament.
“Anything can happen, it has happened before back in 1994 when Roger Milla came back from retirement to play in the World Cup,” he said.
The former Sunderland star has received a lot of backlash from a session of Ghanaians following his World Cup declaration.
Reacting to the backlash, Gyan said, “ONE MAN THOUSAND️. “I’m the news and go make u keep talking” he tweeted.
Gyan has featured in three World Cup tournaments and is eyeing his fourth appearance in Qatar.
