Prof. Gibrilla Abass, a water resource scientist and lecturer at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD), has stressed that we are the solution to our own problems and that no one can come from anywhere to solve them for us.
Speaking to Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney on Koforidua Bryt Fm, he said that the country needs leaders who will take bold decisions and stand up for what is right.
“Nobody can come from anywhere to solve Ghana’s problems for us; we have to rise to solve our problems “. Technocrats have to rise to their convictions and say no to wrongdoings; politicians should stay out of the Galamsey issues and let the technocrats handle it.” He stated.
Prof. Abass advised politicians to let professionals deal with problems like galamsey, while technocrats should stick to their principles and refuse wrongdoing.
He bemoaned the fact that technocrats frequently lack the guts to stand up for what is right, which impedes the advancement of the nation.
